Kim Engen, B. Ed., ARCT, RMT
Hi! My name is Kim Engen and I have been teaching piano in Regina, SK for over 30 years. I am passionate about the importance of music education! I believe that through music we can live happier, more confident and creative lives.
My education includes a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina and in 2010 I completed my ARCT in Piano Pedagogy. I did my professional studies with Janice Elliott-Denike, studying intermediate and advanced piano repertoire and pedagogy. I was very pleased to be awarded the Dorothy Bee Scholarship for Piano Pedagogy in 2009.
My students perform confidently, play with great technique, write music, learn to improvise and receive excellent exam results, with many receiving RCM Gold Medals! Students learn the music of the great classical masters, but as well learn jazz, blues, ragtime and movie music too.
I am member of the Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers' Association and I am proud to be one of the co-founders of the Da Capo Music Masterclass, a non-competitive music festival with a masterclass format, which made its debut in March 2019.
